ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Utsava is a festival or a moment of celebration or any joyous occasion. The Sanskrit word literally means the removal of grief or sorrow. The artworks here denote a strong Indian essence that represents solidity, rootedness and ethnicity that is so characteristic of, almost elemental to works by three artists – Manu Parekh, Paresh Maity and Jayasri Burman. These artworks, through multiple contexts, undoubtedly reflect the mood of delight, merriment and pleasure – Utsava – bringing joy to the viewer.
