Vivek Kumavat

Vivek Kumavat, born in 1977, is a graduate in Fine Arts from the Sir JJ School of Art, Mumbai. His art revolves around the theme of the majestic Indian bull, a symbol of power and strength deeply rooted in Indian mythology, associated with Lord Shiva as Nandi. Kumavat primarily works with acrylic on canvas, employing a patchwork technique that creates a collage-like background featuring Indian Gods and Goddesses, drawing inspiration from Indian miniatures. His artistic process involves multiple layers, starting with a colorful background, followed by meticulous stencil-like compositions of deities. The focal point of his artwork is the "Nandi," intricately adorned with detailed depictions of stories from Indian mythology, akin to miniature art techniques. Kumavat believes that the bull's magnetic presence, adorned with meticulous ornaments in his art, attracts positive energy. His paintings are known for their intricate details and vibrant colors like red, orange, and blue, making them visually captivating. His work has been showcased in numerous solo and group exhibitions in India and internationally, including exhibitions at Jehangir Art Gallery, Triveni Kala Sangam, Singapore Affordable Art Fair, London Affordable Art Fair, and more. Currently, the artist resides and works in Mumbai.
